Because really bad managers go after the easiest things: Cut the marketing, cut the news hole, cut the newsroom, which they don’t understand, and in some cases, cut sales. When things got cut over the last 15 years and particularly in the last seven, it’s mostly editorial resources. We’re trying to do something different, more strategic.
